Subject: [Darts]New dart season begins

After our summer hiatus away from darts the new season has begun. Thursday October 4th saw 8 players ready to resume play. After some long awaited and needed practice the 8 players were divided in 4 teams of 2. Dart board #1 had John Nalen and Dave Winkler facing off against Steve Machcinski and Harvey Leibovitz. JN scored a double bull to secure the win for the JN-DW team. Meanwhile, board 2 had Steve Carr & Bob Bristol tangling with Charlie Whittaker and Art Housman. That game became a point battle as both teams had over 250 points at the end before CW-AH moved on in the win column.?
Undefeated teams JN-DW & CW-AH played on board 1 to hopefully remain Status Quo. JN-DW prevailed and sent CW-AH to play in the loss bracket. The first loss bracket game had SM-HL toe to toe with SC-BB. Steve and Harvey took an early exit for the pilot house which set up a rubber match between SC-BB and CW-AH. Charlie and Art proved too strong for SC-BB so unfortunately those two joined SM and HL on the sidelines. That win set up CW-AH for yet another rubber match for all the marbles between the still undefeated duo of John Nalen and Dave Winkler. Charlie and Art needed 2 wins to claim the honors for the night but John and Dave had other plans. (Hey the Yankee's were getting clobbered so we wanted it over fast so we could watch <G>) The last game was neck in neck till the end with both teams pointing high. It finally ended with John hitting another double bull shot (he only needed single bull) That was it so we all retired to the pilot for some much need refreshments. Open the attachment for the full results.?
Respectfully submitted,?
Dave Winkler?
?
PS. The new Eclipse Pro dart boards arrived today. I think everyone will love them and see an increase in scoring because of the fine wires and no staples. These boards are really nice.?
DKW?
